been killed.  We all loved her so much, and she, as matriarch of
the Whiskers Mob was so important to us, that I suspect most of
us had never dreamed that Flower could die."

"It was the unusual success of Flower and her family that was the
motivation to start the Meerkat Manor filming, and that led to our
great interest in meerkats, that led to the formation, a year ago,
of the East Coast Meerkat Society, and that led us to raise the
funds to redo the meerkat enclosure at the Staten Island Zoo, NY."
