Meerkat Love
Being an avid fan of Meerkat Manor, I was devastated to learn about Flower's death.
Flower - Queen of the Kalahari
When Animal Planet showcased Meerkat Manor I was so excited. I knew nothing about Meerkats. I just knew they were cute. I set reminders every week to make sure I didn't miss an episode. Through each episode of tragedy and heartbreak to loving companionship and compassion, I grew to love them. Flower, Mitch, Tosca, Mozart, Daisy, Shakespeare, Axel, all of them, they won my heart. I was not prepared for the episode 'Journeys End'. I sobbed like someone who had lost a child. I am convinced of only one truth: Every person wants to be loved in a way that they will be missed when they are gone. Flower accomplished what many people hope for without even trying. We can learn volumes from her. Not a day goes by without remembering Flower. What a tragedy. My heart still aches.
Truck Lettering
I wanted to do something so that people would not forget that magestic matriarch. I lettered my truck with the words,
"The desert has lost its favorite Rose... R.I.P Flower"

of the East Coast Meerkat Society, and that led us to raise the
funds to redo the meerkat enclosure at the Staten Island Zoo, NY."
